Top upcoming phones (2024)

There are several fascinating forthcoming phones, from inexpensive to flagships even folding.

Fanatical about smartphone launches? No doubt you're busy. Affordable, flagship, and foldable phones are expected in 2024. Due to Mobile World Congress, more will arrive in the next weeks.

The Galaxy S-series gets all the attention, but Samsung's A-series sells well outside. The Galaxy A55 will compete with the Pixel 7a with a 6.6in OLED display. It may have an Exynos 1480 CPU, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, microSD expansion, and 5000mAh battery.

One of the only manufacturers to preserve the sub-6.5in screen size, Asus delivers a pocket-friendly phone in the first few months of each year. That was formerly so. All Zenfone 11 rumors lead to an Ultra, a rebranded ROG Phone 8.

Pixel A-series phones lack the polish of their flagship siblings but are cheaper. The Pixel 8a, coming in May for Google I/O, should do the same. Google may forgo an inexpensive model this year, although rumors have died down.

The Galaxy S24 series launched in January 2024, a month earlier than Samsung usually launches its popular models, meaning the next-gen Fold and Flip folding phones may arrive earlier. Both are in development, with sources suggesting the former will be redesigned to resemble the angular Galaxy S24 Ultra.

A new iOS release and Apple silicon generation are likely. We hope the iPhone 16 Pro gets the iPhone 15 Pro Max's 5x telephoto lens.

Europe will soon get OnePlus' next flagship killer, presently only available in China. A 6.82in AMOLED screen with 4500nits peak brightness, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, and Sony-developed LYTIA stacking sensor three-lens back camera are expected in the OnePlus 12.
