Future EVs: You'll Soon Buy

Automakers are adding more EVs each year since they're the future. Known manufacturers and newcomers Lucid, Canoo, and Rivian are developing electric cars. Our list covers every electric vehicle that will soon be available, from concept to production.

Acura's first EV, a midsize crossover, launches early next year. Known coupe-SUV Acura ZDX. 2024 ZDX and Cadillac Lyriq share 325-mile-range 102.0-kWh Ultium battery.

The 500-hp, dual-motor, all-wheel-drive Type S with air suspension, adjustable dampers, and upgraded brakes will join the 340-hp, single-motor, rear-wheel-drive A-Spec. An A-Spec should cost $60,000.

Giulia's Ferrari-derived V-6 will be replaced by an electric powertrain in 2025. The base Veloce will have 350–800 horsepower. Top Giulia will remain Quadrifoglio and 1000+ HP. Stellantis Group's 800-volt, ultra-rapid STLA Large platform with 500-mile range will power New Giulia.

Although a concept, Audi claims the A6 e-tron is near manufacturing. Premium Platform Electric (PPE) scales with EVs. It includes the gas-powered A6 and PPE-based Q6 e-tron SUV.

Dual electric motors produce the A6 e-tron 469 hp. All PPE cars have 800-volt charging, and this huge sedan can go 400 miles.

Bentley plans to switch from 15-mpg land yachts to all-electric vehicles. Bentley plans to replace the Bentayga, Flying Spur, Continental GT coupe and convertible and offer a new model by 2030. The first replacement is expected around 2025.

The Ford Explorer is a popular SUV in the U.S., so going electric makes sense. In May 2021, Ford's three-row SUV would join the Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit electric van. Mach-E and F-150 Lightning-style rear- and all-wheel-drive Explorer EVs with 318-hp hybrid V-6 powertrains are expected.

Survival strengthens you. Or, like the Chevy Bolt, death strengthens. The July announcement by GM's CEO of the small EV's revival suggests such. The second-generation Bolt will be tech-focused and affordable, says Chevrolet. New Bolt will employ Ultium platform and debut in 2025. Though details are unavailable, we believe the 2018 Bolt will exceed its EPA-estimated 259-mile range.
