Border Patrol agent, 2 soldiers killed in chopper crash along Texas-Mexico border.

On Friday, a helicopter crashed close to Rio Grande City, Texas, resulting in the deaths of two members of the United States National Guard and a Border Patrol agent, as well as the injury of a fourth individual, according to law enforcement officials.

In accordance with a statement released by the Joint Task Force North of the United States Department of Defense, the UH-72 Lakota helicopter encountered an accident at approximately 2:50 p.m. local time when it was "conducting aviation operations" in the vicinity.

As stated in the announcement, the helicopter had been scheduled to participate in a support mission along the Southwest border of the United States.

According to the Joint Task Force North, the names of those who were murdered will not be made public until the next of kin have been notified as soon as possible. Those who were hurt are members of the armed forces.

Major General Daniel Hokanson, who is in charge of the National Guard Bureau, described the fatalities as terrible. "These tragic deaths will be deeply mourned by us. Hokanson expressed his opinion on X that "they are a tragic loss beyond words." "Our prayers are with the third Guard Soldier who sustained critical injuries, and we hope that he will recover quickly.

Senator John Cornyn, a Republican from Texas, expressed his "deepest condolences to the families of the National Guard soldier and Border Patrol agent who passed away and those who were injured in a helicopter crash near La Grulla, Texas."

Cornyn said that he is offering his thoughts to the families of those who were injured. Located on the border between Texas and Mexico is the city of Rio Grande.
